At the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, we create knowledge for a better world and solutions that can change everyday life. NTNU is a university with an international focus, with headquarters in Trondheim and campuses in Ålesund and Gjøvik. It has a main profile in science and technology, a variety of programmes of professional study, and great academic breadth that also includes the humanities, social sciences, economics, medicine, health sciences, educational science, architecture, entrepreneurship, art disciplines and artistic activities.

With its 42 000 students and 7600 full-time equivalent employees, NTNU is committed to innovative education and research.

Ocean Science and Technology is one of four strategic areas of research at NTNU, with sustainable seafood and marine bioresources as one of its focus areas. Through interdisciplinary cooperation, NTNU Oceans stimulates research, education and innovation of sector and societal relevance.

The project “Bridgehead Aquaculture 2050” strengthens the ties between academia and the seafood sector in Central Norway. It is developing a regional knowledge platform for efficient and mutual exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge towards the vision of an enhanced innovation capacity and readiness in the sector.

At “Forskningstorget” you will meet eight research and innovation communities that are concerned with research and innovation within the fisheries and seafood industry. Catch up on the latest research at three mini seminarers: Tomorrows fishing fleet, How to achieve a vivant coast culture? and Can we increase the value from marine resources?

Meet researchers from NTNU, Sintef Ocean, Nofima, NORCE, UiT The Arctic University of Norway and companies working on innovation. The research and innovations are funded and supported by the Research Council, the FHF and innovation Norway.

Forskningstorget is part of the main programme in Nor-Fishing digital.
